Preflight script hanging on host evaluation for data collector

Issue/Introduction

I am ruunning Upgrade Automation preflight. The preflight is hanging checking DC service host evaluation.  The following is the last line in the pre-flight script

 

TASK [dc : Verify the availability of DC hosteval service http://xxxxx.xxxxx.xxx:8581/genericWS/dchosteval] ***

Environment

Dx NetOps Performance Management 24.x

Resolution

It could be a few issues

• Put the URL in a browser and attempt to login.  If you can successfully do so, do your credentials match what is in the automation config files?
• Look at http://<DA>:8581/rest/dcms.  What does the <CollectorState> tag show?  If it shows If it is 'Unknown' it may be the collectors are down, or they did not register with the DA since it last started.  It is possible they may need to be restarted, or restarted with -clean to register them with the DA before the pre-flight can be run again
