Cannot pair two Site Recovery Manager instances

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

The administrator has three SRM servers paired with the production vCenter. The administrator has successfully paired one of them with a DR vCenter and SRM server; however, the administrator has been unable to pair the other two SRM servers with their respective DR vCenters and SRM servers.

Environment

Live Site Recovery (all versions)

Cause

Both SRM instances in a specific site pair (e.g., Protected Site A and Recovery Site) must use the same custom extension ID to function correctly

Resolution

In a shared recovery site configuration, where a single vCenter Server is paired with multiple protected sites, a dedicated SRM appliance must be deployed for each site pairing. 

To enable these multiple pairings on the same vCenter Server, each SRM instance must be registered with a unique custom extension ID.
