Issue/Introduction
- ESXi Transport Node degraded
- ESXi Transport Node BFD tunnels to different subnets are down (nsxdp-cli bfd sessions list)
- No Gateway IP address assigned (net-vdl2 -l)
- IPv4 Assignment for vTEP is "Use DHCP"
Environment
VMware NSX-T Data Center
Cause
No Gateway IP address is offered from DHCP Server determined by packets capture from both DHCP Server and ESXi host
Resolution
WorkAround: Change IPv4 Assignment for vTEP from "Use DHCP" to "Use Static IP List"
Resolution: Investigate further on DHCP Server, especially any policies settings
Additional Information
On ESXi 8, Option 3 should be used to offer Gateway IP address
