No connection to VR Server error encountered when the administrator attempts to replicate VMs

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Replications failed with "A replication error occurred at the vsphere replication server for replication. 'No connection to VR server for virtual machine 'VM_Name' on host 'Host_Name' in cluster 'Cluster_Name'"

Environment

vSphere Live Recovery (all versions)

Cause

If there is no network path between Cluster A (source hosts) and Cluster B (where the add-on resides), the replication traffic cannot reach the add-on server.

Resolution

Manually configure replication by selecting the appropriate vSphere Replication server.
