Issue/Introduction

• vSphere Client will continue to show the following license banner on top of UI-
  

 

• Issue with either workload domain or management domain where evaluation mode licenses are showing again even after removing the IDs using jxplorer-

 

 

• Also it will throw the following error while removing-
  "The Evaluation Mode license on Host xxxxxxxx cannot be changed to . To downgrade the license, first disable the following features"

Environment

VMware SDDC Manager 5.x

Cause

This issue occurs if Storage I/O Control or Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) is enabled, along with other features from the vSphere/VCF end holding the license entries in the database 

Resolution

Perform the following steps to fix the stale license issue(evaluation mode or other unassigned/expired)-

• Removed the hosts from cluster through SDDC
• Removed the license stale entries on the vCenter through the jxplorer (it didn't remove licenses from the above step)
• Added the host back to the cluster through SDDC
• Attached licenses as part of adding the host to the cluster.
• Verified the vCenter through jxplorer all the re-added hosts got new id and all stale entries didn't reappear as of now.
