Network Prevent for Web server still receiving traffic after being removed from the proxy server

Issue/Introduction

After removing a Web Prevent server from the proxy, it is still receiving ICAP traffic.

Resolution

Even though the Web Prevent server was removed from the proxy routing table, the existing connections were not dropped.
Thus the proxy continued to send traffic to the NPW server that had been removed from the proxy server routing table.
The proxy team had to drop those connections to stop the traffic being sent to the removed NPW server.
