Gateway Becomes Unresponsive In 11.1.2 When Using ICAP Assertion

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to gateway version 11.1.2 it is noticed that the gateway can be running fine for hours and then suddenly become unusable.   

Various symptoms can occur such as the following:

-The gateway becomes sluggish in processing requests

-The gateway may not be able to communicate to the defined anti virus servers via policies which make use of the Scan Using ICAP-Enabled Antivirus Assertion.

-Users can no longer connect to policy manager.

 

Reviewing the gateways ssg_0_0.log will show errors along the following:

io.netty.util.concurrent.DefaultPromise.rejectedExecution: Failed to submit a listener notification task. Event loop shut down?
io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel: Force-closing a channel whose registration task was not accepted by an event loop: [id: 0xb2423110]

Environment

CA API Gateway 11.1.2

Resolution

This will be addressed in a future gateway CR but for now please contact support to obtain a hot fix which updates the IcapAntivirusScannerAssertion-11.1.2.xxxxx.aar file.
