Issue/Introduction

In several places in the BSI GUI, such as trying to register a new metric, receive an internal error:

The ':' character, hexadecimal value 0x3A cannot be included in a name. Line 1, position 17.

Environment

CA Business Service Insight 8.3 or earlier

Internet Explorer (IE) 11

Cause

Error is caused by trying to use IE11 with BSI 8.3 or earlier. 

Resolution

Upgrade to BSI 9.0. This is the preferred solution as BSI 9.0.0 can now run on modern Chromium based browsers
