Generating an Access Token for VMware Usage Meter 9.0 Upgrade

Issue/Introduction

During the upgrade to VMware Usage Meter 9.0, an access token is required to authenticate the appliance with VMware Cloud Partner Navigator. This article outlines the steps to generate the necessary access token to proceed with the upgrade.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation Usage Meter 9.0

Resolution

If the Usage Meter appliance does not already have an access token, one must be generated from the VCF Business Services console. Follow these steps:

1. Log in to the VCF Business Service Console 

2. Navigate to License Management > Usage Metering > Usage Meters.

3. Locate the registered Usage Meter appliance from the list.

4. Click the double arrow icon next to the corresponding appliance.

5. Select More from the options.

6. Click on Generate Access Token to create a new token.

This token can then be used during the upgrade process to VMware Usage Meter 9.0.
