Roles and Permissions Required to Configure Email Disclaimers in Email Security.cloud

Issue/Introduction

A user is unable to view or modify Email Disclaimers within the Email Security.Cloud portal.

The user may receive insufficient privilege errors when attempting to create or edit disclaimers.

Environment

Email Security.cloud

Cause

The user account does not have the required role or permission set to manage Email Disclaimers.

Resolution

Users with permission to edit configuration for at least one domain can edit disclaimers for the whole organisation. Users with the View configuration role can see email disclaimers but not edit them.

To enable a user to configure email disclaimers:

Steps to Assign the Required Permissions

  1. Log in to the Email Security.cloud administration portal.

  2. Navigate to Administration > User Management.

  3. Select an existing user or create a new user account.

  4. Open the User Roles tab.

  5. Choose one of the following:

    • Select a predefined Standard Role, or

    • Create or modify a Custom Role.

  6. If using a Custom Role:

    • Ensure Edit Configuration is enabled.

  7. In the Services section, confirm that Email Disclaimers is selected.

  8. Save the changes by clicking Add Role or Append Role.
