Issue/Introduction

NSX Host disconnect from vCenter after patching and while trying to re-connect host throws an error -" Host cannot be added to the cluster. Host with DVS configured cannot be added to the cluster managed by vSphere Configuration Profiles"

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Cause

Currently vSphere Configuration Profiles for NSX-enabled hosts is not supported.

    Resolution

    You can't enable vSphere Configuration Profiles if NSX is also enabled for the cluster.

    There is no resolution at the time, vsphere configuration profiles with NSX will be implemented in future releases.

    Workaround:

    1. Recreate the cluster without VCP configuration (uncheck the below option)

     

    Additional Information

    In vcenter server 8.0.3, if you try to enable VCP after adding NSX hosts to the cluster. It will fail with below error (which is expected):
