DE Server ends unexpected during startup or while populating artifacts after migration

Issue/Introduction

We are unable to get DE Server started again. After 10-15 minutes it ends without producing any message in the tracelog.txt file.

User can also experience this issue after migration and populating of migrated artifacts at DE Server startup.

 

Environment

Component: Workload Automation DE 12.x, 25.0 

Platform: Windows Operating System

Cause

Due to high volume of active workload or artifacts being populated, DE Server service startup is taking more than 10 minutes so the service was getting timed out after reaching the ‘wait time’ value of 10 minutes.

 

Resolution

Increase the default wait time and start the server.

Steps:

1. Edit file 'windows.service.properties' located under <DE_install_path>\conf directory.
2. Modify the default value (600) of the parameter 'servicegracewait'. For example;
   
   • servicegracewait=7200
   • Note: This value is in seconds.
3. Start DE Server service
