Issue/Introduction

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi
VMware vCenter Server

Cause

For the Teaming Policy Health Check feature to operate as expected, the following conditions must be met:

  • The vDS must be associated with a minimum of two ESXi hosts.
  • At least two active uplinks must be configured in the teaming policy.

Resolution

If the required conditions are not met, the warning is expected behavior. In such cases, you may either disable the vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS) health check or safely ignore/disregard the warning.

Additional Information

Review the vDS health Check limitations, which can be found in the "Additional Information" section of vDS Health Check reports unsupported VLANs for MTU and VLAN.

Refer to the following KB article for instructions on how to enable or disable the vSphere Distributed Switch health check using the vSphere Web Client.

If you are observing the following error "No loadbalance_ip teaming policy matches" in the ESXi hostd.log file, please refer to the article 325396 for more information.
