Issue/Introduction

Question:

All our Data warehouse Time Slices do not roll over when the expiration date is due so we have to manually reset the Slices and ran Time Slice job. Is this behaviour a defect?

Answer:

Data warehouse slices have slice periods of the type 'Fiscal'. These Slice Requests will not be rolled over until there are enough fiscal time periods defined in

BIZ_COM_PERIODS table. If on your Timeslice page some of the fiscal time periods have longer durations than the Fiscal periods defined in the financial

Entity then this will bring about the situation where rollover will not occur when the slice expiration date is due.

Therefore if you have 12 monthly fiscal periods defined in your Data Warehouse slice request then you need to create at least 24 monthly fiscal periods in

your financial Entity so that there is enough fiscal periods to cover the monthly rollover.
