"No row with the given identifier exists" for "Imported Discovered" operation

Issue/Introduction

Task fails in vcloud Director:

Operation:

Imported Discovered XXX.disk_1XXXX...(XXXXX)

vcloud-container-debug.log:

No row with the given identifier exists: [com.vmware.vcloud.common.model.VirtualMachineModel#XXXX]


Unable to write VMX file: /vmfs/volumes/XXXX/XXX.disk_1_XXX (XXXXXXX)/XXX.disk_1_XXX (XXXXXX).vmx

Cause

This issue happens if the "VM discovery" feature is enabled and vcd is not able to find the vmx file of the auto discovered disk

Resolution

• Confirm if this feature is needed and if the VM really exists inside vcenter
• If the VM is old or stale, remove the old objects from vcenter for vcloud to stop retrying the import
• If the feature is turned off this will stop the warning/failure
