Issue/Introduction

  • In the Aria Operations menu, Capacity / Reclaim / Orphaned Disks does not return any data when it absolutely should.
  • The VCenter affected adapter instance logs in Aria Operations (/storage/log/vcops/log/adapters/VMwareAdapter) will show the following exception:   

2025-04-04T20:00:49,181+0000 ERROR [pool-4-thread-51]  com.integrien.alive.collector.orphanedvmdks.OrphanedVMDKsCollector.lambda$startCollection$4 - Response from adapter 164367 contains the following error message No datastore with Datastore.Browse privilege for the collecting user available for scanning. 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The affected vCenter adapter instance user credentials is missing privileges in Vcenter 

Resolution

The vCenter adapter instance user needs to have the following privileges and required permissions for scanning the disks present under the datastore (Datastore.Browse).
