Issue/Introduction

Importing an existing vCenter VM that is currently on a local Datastore will cause a failure in the VCF deployment workflow during the VCF Automation deployment

Environment

VCF 9.0.0.0

Cause

All the VCF Automation nodes are required to be connected to a shared datastore. As VCF Automation will be deployed on the datastore of the vCenter VM, if the Datastore to which vCenter is connected is not shared, then VCF Automation deployment will fail

Resolution

1. Log in to VCF Operations.
2. Navigate to Fleet Management → Lifecycle.
3. Go to the Task section.
4. Click on the VCF Automation deployment failure task.
5. Select Retry to view all the fields available for update.
6.Update the **Datastore** field with a valid value in the format: `Datastore:datastore-1025`, where `datastore-1025` is the MoRef ID of the datastore. You can obtain this MoRef ID from vCenter.
7. Click Submit to apply the changes.
