Issue/Introduction

Using Monitoring Governance Report (MGR) (From 23.4 CU3), what does 'Is Monitored' column refers too?

I'm seeing devices that are actively being monitored, but they do not appear in the list if "Show monitored Device only"  is ticked.

Devices for which I can see data currently being collected show a a red cross in "is monitored" column:

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.3 and later

Cause

"samplerate" field for the QOS_DATA Object is NULL in the DB.

From the documentation:

Monitoring Governance Report (MGR) (From 23.4 CU3)

"If there is a gap in the data collection interval for two consecutive data points plus five minutes for a QoS, then the QoS is tagged as inactive and not monitored. When the QoS data collection starts again the QoS is monitored and is displayed in the report."

To honor the above, the MGR uses a query that takes into account the samplerate from the S_QOS_DATA table. If samplerate is 'NULL' the device will appear as "is monitored = no" even thoug there is current data being collected.

Resolution

As of May 2025 - The reason why samplerate is written as NULL in the database for some object is currently being investigated.
