Issue/Introduction

This article helps to clarify whether Smarts monitors and raise alarms on the VLANs configured on the Network devices. 

Environment

Smarts 10.1.X

TCSA 2.X

Resolution

• Are we monitoring VLANs configured on the network devices
  
  [Answer] No, Currently we can only configure to perform VLAN impact propagation, for the Port RCA use cases. 
  Port RCA means that Smarts propagates the port-fault status to the vlan instance as impact entity but does not generate any alarms on the VLAN instances.
  
  Chapter : VLAN explains the exceptions raised for VLAN instances with respect to the Port RCA use-cases. 

Additional Information

Events for VLAN clarifies that there are no events raised for VLAN instances.
