VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

  • Licenses are not appearing in the Select License dropdown within Aria Suite Lifecycle while attempting to assign them to a deployed Aria Products.

Environment

  • VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.x

  • Aria Operations 8.x

  • Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

  • Aria Automation 8.18

Resolution

 

Follow the following steps to address this issue:

  • For Aria Automation follow below steps to update the license manually:
    • To resolve the issue manually update the Aria Automation/Orchestrator license using vracli commands.
    • Take appropriate snapshots before applying the below steps. 
    • SSH to the Aria Automation/Orchestrator appliance primary node and run the following commands
      1. Retrieve the current expired license
        vracli license
      2. Remove the Expired / Faulty License
        vracli license remove License_Key
      3. Add new valid License
        vracli license add License_Key
    • Trigger an Inventory Sync of the Aria Automation/Orchestrator environment in Aria Suite Lifecycle

 

Optional: Apply the latest Product Support Pack or Patch to Aria Suite Lifecycle to resolve any potential UI or licensing-related issues

Additional Information

  • Manual assignment of licenses in the product UI followed by an Inventory Sync reflects the updated license status in Aria Suite Lifecycle
