Issue/Introduction

You have noticed that after an AD Users Import rule runs, your domain user is shown as "Example\User" for example (when you look at the database while using a query like: SELECT Name FROM vRM_User_Item), but Basic Inventory sends same domain user full name.

Environment

ITMS 8.7.2, 8.7.3

Cause

Known issue.

Changes introduced to address this issue:

  • If user is an AD user, then registry will contain non empty "AssetMasterDisplayName" registry value.
  • If display name is not empty then the user resource will contain "name" attribute set to user's display name and "iname" attribute set to "domain\user" string.
  • If display name is empty then "domain\user" is reported as "name" attribute as before.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed with our ITMS 8.8 Release.

For those with ITMS 8.7.2 release, refer to the pointfix available under KB 366939 "CUMULATIVE POST ITMS 8.7.2 POINT FIXES"

For those with ITMS 8.7.3 release, refer to the pointfix available under KB 382575 "CUMULATIVE POST ITMS 8.7.3 POINT FIXES"
