Issue/Introduction

• Moving a Virtual Machine from one VApp to another gives the following error-

  com.vmware.sddc.util.LMException: VM #### (########-####-####-####-############) failed to update and has been rolled back. Cannot change network adapter type of existing virtual machine.

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x
• VMware Cloud Director 10.5.x

Cause

This Issue is caused if the NIC type selected for the VM at the destination VApp is different than the NIC type of the VM at source VApp.

Resolution

During the 'Configure Resource' step, make sure that the NIC type selected for the destination VApp matches the NIC type of the source VM when moving the VM.
