Issue/Introduction

Can files routed to a particular SPOOL Printer be put on hold and then released when when needed?

Resolution

There is an option available to make all the incoming files for a particular printer to be placed on hold.
Users will have then the control to manually release them when time is right.
Consider using a DESTID to use the FNORDISP keyword to achieve this goal.
For the examples the printer NODE name destination is MYDEST and only files coming in with CLASS=P need to be placed on hold.

The following DESTID uses the FNORDISP=H keyword  which will make any file for printer MYDEST in CLASS P to be held and once released they will be printed then purged.:
DESTID QDEST=MYDEST,QCLASS=P,FNORDISP=H

Another option is using FNORDISP=L keyword.  FNORDISP=L will hold the files as well. When manually released they will be kept and appear with status E in the Files menu: :
DESTID QDEST=MYDEST,QCLASS=P,FNORDISP=L
