Issue/Introduction

How the Smarts global console will be set up on Citrix. Is there any specific ports that we need to be aware of, or can it use any available port on a certain port range?

Smarts - 10.1.X

Resolution

1). The deployment of Smarts global console on Citrix is just like any application and it should work.

2). List of ports that needs to be opened for the Smarts global console to operate:

• Source Ports: Smarts global console being a standard network application, for source port it typically uses a port number from a predefined range of dynamic ports, often above 1023. This range allows the operating system to automatically assign a free port for the application to use. The specific port chosen is not truly random, but rather the first available port within the range.
• Destination Ports: Broker port 426 and all the server ports where the domain managers are running (take the brcontrol output for identifying the server ports) needs to be opened for the Smarts global console to connect and operate.
