VMs intermittently not able get a response from VSAN file server NFS service

Issue/Introduction

VMs intermittently disconnect from NFS shares served from vSAN File Service. The client logs may display errors with the message"

nfs: server <NFS server name> not responding, still trying

Applications utilizing storage on the NFS share report high latency.

Environment

vSAN 8.x File Services NFS share

Cause

vSAN File Service NFS on vSAN 8.x uses protocols with readdir processing limited to 50 entries responded to a client.

Resolution

This will be resolved in a future release.

To workaround the issue please reduce the number of files or directories per share and utilize more shares to server the files.
