Issue/Introduction

Prior to installing the VMware Aria Operations Pre-assessment Tool (APUAT) Will cluster requires to be offline, and what impact does this have on the live environment.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

No cause related.  Just general answers pertaining to installation of Pre-Assessment tool readiness.

Resolution

To install the VMware Aria Operations Pre-Assessment Tool, the cluster must be in an Online status.

However, prior to performing the installation, it is strongly advised that a snapshot of all the Aria Operations appliances be taken.  To do so, the cluster will required to be taken offline, then the snapshots can be taken (without Memory option checked).

When the cluster is offline, all analytic services are stopped.  There will be no data collection in progress.  

Once the cluster is offline, and the snapshot for all the appliances have been taken, the cluster can then be brought back online, and the installation of the Pre-Assessment Tool can be initiated.
