Issue/Introduction

In vCenter Server's GUI, the vSphere Client, a cluster object in inventory shows a yellow icon, and clicking the cluster object to view the Summary tab shows a blue banner message:

"vSphere HA initiated a failover action on 1 virtual machine in the cluster xxxxx in datacenter xxxx"

Clicking on the Monitor tab of the cluster object, followed by the Triggered Alarms row shows the same alarm. The "Acknowledge" and "Reset to Green" buttons cannot be clicked, and the alarm cannot be cleared.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x
VMware vCenter Server 7.x

Resolution

The alarm cannot be cleared or acknowledged.

As a workaround, disable vSphere HA on the cluster, then re-enable it. Refer to Disabling and enabling VMware High Availability (HA).
