Non-critical baseline failing to download patches for vmtools 12.5.1 after configuring customer token-specific URLs in Lifecycle Manager

Issue/Introduction

When running remediation on ESXi hosts with the Non-cricital Patches baseline, the Remediate entity task fails. The task throws an error message:

"There are errors during the remediation operation. Check the events and log files for details."

 

This error is thrown when the Remediate Entity task fails, after already re-configuring Lifecycle Manager in vCenter to use customer token-specific URLs (refer to "A general system error occurred: Failed to download VIB(s): Error: HTTP Error Code: 403", vLCM fails to download the ESXi patches and images from online repositories)

Resolution

Creating a new custom baseline allows the ESXi host to successfully remediate, and install vmtools 12.5.1.
