Issue/Introduction

Enabling a vxRail cluster fails to Validate.

Stops on "The VxRail cluster is not ready for vLCM enablement. Complete the recommended actions before enabling VMware vLCM"

There is a compliance issue for nsx-lcp-bundle. You could try uploading the depot to solve this.

Environment

-vXRail System w/NSX
-Installed version 8.0.3-0.55.24414501
-Custom Image version 8.0.3-0.0.24022510

Cause

ESXi version 8.0.3-0.0.24022510 in the image is a downgrade of the installed version 8.0.3-0.55.24414501.

Note, VxRail hardware should not use a custom image

Resolution

Contact Dell for assistance with VxRail.

Use the next  VxRail BOM that includes 8.0.3-0.55.24414501 or later.  If there are still component downgrade issues presumably an even newer VxRail BOM should have component versions that are universally equal to or greater than the current installed software, which is the requirement for a vLCM remediation.

Additional Information

If no newer BOMs are available there may be the option of manually downgrading by removing (with 'esxcli') indvidual higher-version components on the host before re-attempting the remediation. This would need to be done carefully on a component-by-component basis to make sure the system isn't rendered inoperable by the removal of some component.
