Issue/Introduction

VR appliance registered with IP address. Require process to change to FQDN.

SRM and vSphere Replication registration to vCenter server can be done with the IP address or FQDN.

Environment

Live Recovery (All versions)

vSphere Replication (All versions)

Site Recovery Manager (All versions)

Cause

In some scenarios, it may be needed to change the way SRM or VRMS is registered with vCenter server.

Resolution

Impact:
SRM and VRMS services will restart during this process, making the product unusable briefly during the service restart.


Resolution:
On the Name and Extension page, you can change the way the appliance is registered with vCenter server.

  • Enter the site name, administrator email address, and local host IP address or name, to register the Site Recovery Manager with vCenter Server.
