Products

VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

  • vROPS reporting NSX-T and VC errors but no errors in products
  • vROPS has been updated to 8.18.3 as per suspected fix of "Self relation can't be applied to symptom defs of other resource kinds" in the release notes yet the errors continue for showing false-postive NSX and VC NTP errors
  • Steps from KB 389940 Alert "<Service> app health is affected" is active due to NTP Summary|Status "FAILED" != "PASSED" have been checked and all NTP Status are GREEN in the report.json from the SDDC Manager SOS Health API

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

The VMware Infrastructure Health adapter and the VCF adapter (or one of the child adapters from the VCF domain) are assigned to collectors in different collector groups.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Administration > Integrations and expand the VMware Cloud Foundation group
  2. Click the vertical three dots button next to the VCF adapter to modify and select Edit
  3. Modify the Collector / Group field to the appropriate setting and click Validate Connection
  4. Verify that "Test connection successful" is received and click OK
  5. Click Save
  6. Expand the VCF adapter and click the vertical 3 dots button next to the domain to modify and select Edit
  7. Modify the Collector / Group to the same value used in step 3 for the VCF adapter and click Validate Connection
  8. Verify that "Test connection successful" is received and click OK
  9. Click Save
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 for all other domains within the SDDC

If the alert is still active after assigning all adapters to the same Collector / Group, use the steps from Remove VMware Infrastructure Health adapter instance through APISet deleteResources to "true" in step 3.e.
