vSAN services are down

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

• The vSAN services in the cluster are not loading the vSAN services . The vCenter UI client > Host and Cluster view > vSAN cluster > Configuration > vSAN services 
  
  
  
  
  
  
• The vCLS VM(s) are shown as powered off and the power on button is greyed out
• All the VM(s) are up and running normal manner

Environment

VMware vSAN 8.X

Cause

• If the vSAN cluster is not shutdown properly as explained in the article  Shut Down the vSAN Cluster Using the Shutdown Cluster Wizard 
  
  
  • The vSAN services will not load in the vCenter GUI after vSAN cluster is powered on
  • The vCenter server is "unaware" from vSAN cluster "shutdown and power on"

Resolution

• Restart the services by going to The vCenter UI client > Host and Cluster view > vSAN cluster > Configuration > vSAN services 
  
  Note : Ensure the vSAN is in healthy state using the commands listed in article -  Esxcli Commands with vSAN

Note : Mentioned KB is not applicable if the production VMs are down
