Issue/Introduction

The administrator encountered the following error during the SRM DR Bubble Test and would appreciate assistance in resolving these potential issues: "Some virtual machines in the protection group 'Group_Name' could not be recovered."

Environment

vSphere Live recovery (all versions)

Cause

The issue is observed when invalid virtual machines exist in the replication configuration. These VMs may have been deleted or moved from the vCenter inventory without first being removed from the replication and protection groups, resulting in the configuration becoming stuck or inconsistent.

Resolution

Remove invalid VMs from replication and re-run the recovery.
