Issue/Introduction

In the vSAN Cluster Skyline Health section alerts are present for:

Environment

vSAN (all versions)

Cause

The Quickstart error is caused by making changes to hosts or adding hosts to a cluster outside of the Quickstart process when Quickstart was used to configure the cluster initially.
Once a cluster has been initially configured with Quickstart all changes must be performed using Quickstart, or by removing a host from the cluster and using Quickstart to place it back into the cluster. See KB 394266 for specific details.

The vSphere build recommendation engine errors are due to a backend Broadcom networking change when moving from vmware.com to broadcom.com domains.
The backend changes have disrupted VUM access to login and obtain images. Please see KB 368021 for details.

Resolution

There are two options available:

  • Follow instructions in the KBs 394266 and 368021 to resolve these errors
  • Silence the alerts using instructions from KB 326925
