Problem upgrading Live Site Recovery using an ISO file

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The administrator initiated the upgrade with the vSphere Replication appliances; however, their version numbers are not updating after the upgrade process.
• The appliance did not automatically reboot as expected.

 /opt/vmware/var/log/vami/updatecli.log shows entries that look similar to:

Upgrade failed with exit code 65024 error.

Live Site Recovery ( all versions)

Cause

This issue is observed when an incorrect ISO file is used—for example, using the vSphere Replication ISO to upgrade a Live Site Recovery appliance.

Resolution

• Reverting the VMware SRM appliance snapshot after a failed upgrade ensures a stable environment and eliminates potential issues before the next upgrade attempt.
• Revert to the snapshot taken prior to the upgrade, then proceed with the appliance upgrade using the correct Live Site Recovery ISO file.
