Alert in SDDC Manager UI showing "Certificates will expire soon" or "# expired certificates" after recently updating all certificates.

Issue/Introduction

After recently updating all certificates in the SDDC Manager UI, an alert may stay showing that there are certificates expiring soon.

Environment

vSphere Cloud Foundation 5.2.1

Cause

The Certificate Replacement Workflow did not properly remove references to the previous certificate(s) for certain nodes in the operations manager > certificate_chain_expiry table.

 

Resolution

To resolve this we need manually set the task to completed status in the SDDC manager database.

Contact Broadcom VCF GS Support to complete the removal task as it will require editing multiple tables in platform DB.
