Certificate management in SDDC manager shows Certificate Installation Failed after successfully replacing the certificate

Issue/Introduction

Certificate Installation tasks show as failed, but they are showing active on the webpage and in SDDC manager and have an expiration date a year away.

Environment

vSphere Cloud Foundation 5.2.1

Cause

Concurrent certificate replacement tasks were found, one succeeding and then the next one failing in the logging.

Resolution

To resolve this we need manually set the task to completed status in the SDDC manager database using the following KB:

• Certificate management in SDDC manager shows Certificate Installation Failed after completing retrust out of band

Contact Broadcom VCF GS Support to complete the removal task as it will require editing multiple tables in platform DB.
