Cannot authenticate to AD SSO domain after vCenter 8 Upgrade

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

vCenter fails to authenticate using Active Directory user credentials after appliance upgrade.

Environment

vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

The appliance becomes disconnected from the domain during the upgrade.

Resolution

Rejoin the domain and restart vCenter appliance:

1. Administration > Single Sign on > Configuration

2. Select Active Directory Domain and JOIN AD


3. Enter AD details, join, and restart the appliance
