Issue/Introduction

When modifying task dependences in the MUX tasks timeline view, at times the users get the following error: Update operation failed. The investment is locked.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Open a project in MUX that contains several tasks
2. On the Task timeline view add the Predecessors column to the layout
3. Let say you have the following WBS Structure
   • 1 My Summary Tasks
     • 1.1 Task A
     • 1.2 Task B
   • 2 My Second Summary Task
     • 2.1 Task 2A
     • 2.1 Task 2B
4. On Task 2B Predecessors field type in 1.1
5. Change is saved
6. On Task 2B Predecessors field double click to select 1.1 and type in 1.2

Expected Results: 1.1 Tasks to be removed and to be replaced by 1.2

Actual Results: At times the predecessor field value will be updated correctly, removing 1.1 and adding 1.2. You might also get the error: Update operation failed. The investment is locked.

Resolution

Workaround: Do the updates to the Predecessors field one at a time. If a value is going to be removed and a different one added, remove the value first and once changes are saved, add the next predecessor value

This issue can not be reproduced in Clarity 16.3.2
