When the Avi Controller continuously polls the ESXi hosts, it may be perceived as abnormal or potentially malicious behavior in some environments. As a result, customers may seek a way to prevent the Avi Controller from continuously polling the ESXi hosts.
Events on Avi:
vCenter Cloud
In cloud environments without a content library configuration, the SE image must be uploaded to the ESXi host every time a new SE is created. For this to work, the controller needs to be able to connect to the ESXi host. Avi Controller performs connectivity checks and filters out ESXi hosts that aren't reachable.
To prevent continuous polling from the Avi Controller to ESXi hosts, configure a Content Library in the cloud. Since the SE image will be locally available in vCenter’s Content Library, repeated connectivity checks between the controller and hosts are no longer required.
If you have both Vcenter and NSX Clouds configured on the same controller, make sure to configure separate Content Libraries for each cloud.
