Issue/Introduction

The storage backing a Content Library is going to be repurposed or retired, requiring the templates and files in the Content Library to be moved to a different datastore.

Environment

  • vSphere 7.x
  • vSphere 8.x

Resolution

The templates and files within a Content Library cannot be repointed to a different backing datastore.  If the existing storage used by a Content Library is going to be repurposed or retired, a new Content Library will need to be created with a different backing datastore, then the templates and files can be imported into the new Content Library.
