Relationship between Datacom products and IBM JES2 APAR OA61751

Issue/Introduction

While applying a z/OS JES2, there was information about working with multiple JES2 service levels in APAR OA61751.

Is the Datacom product suite affected because of this upgraded JES2 service level?

Resolution

APAR OA61751 looks like a standard toleration fix for sites running JES at a lower level than 3.1 and having JES 3.1 components in place; particularly, JES runtime policies. This APAR is related to JES policy functionality with multiple release level components operating together.

As Datacom does not directly process JES policies within its code, there is no correlation between Datacom and this APAR. If you are making a transition to z/OS 3.1, I would recommend you review the z/OS Compatibility information for z/OS 3.1 for your Broadcom products to determine if any additional APARs are needed. At present, the various Datacom products running version 15.0 and 15.1 show as fully compatible, with nothing extra required.

Since there is no direct relationship between the Datacom product and JES policy management, your Datacom 15.1 product should be fine.
