Issues in Citrix environment after VMFS upgrade

Issue/Introduction

After a VMFS upgrade from version 5 to version 6 Citrix is having trouble updating exciting machine catalogs because it cannot find the associated storage.

Error message seen from Citrix is the following: 

error:PluginUtilities.Exceptions.ItemNotFoundException: Node not found. id = 'datastore-######', type = 'storage'

Environment

ESXi (All)
Citrix 

Cause

As there is a large difference between VMFS 5 and VMFS 6 the datastore is not upgrade but migrated. 
This will create a new ID for the datastore that is not changeable 

Resolution

Citrix will need to be adjusted to use the new datastore and its ID
