VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

  1. As shown in the screenshot, the upgrade may get stuck at Stage 6, though it could also stall at a different stage depending on the environment.

  2. During the issue, connectivity between the platform nodes may be lost, and ping tests between them may fail.

  3. Validate Secure Tunnel Status:
    1. SSH into each platform node in the cluster using the consoleuser account.
    2. Run the following command to verify if IPsec (Secure Tunnel) is enabled:
      secure-tunnel -s
  1. Verify Inter-Node Communication:
    1. Use the ping command to test connectivity between the platform nodes.
    2. If the secure tunnel is enabled and the nodes are unable to communicate (pings fail), it indicates an issue with the secure tunnel connectivity.

Environment

  • Aria Operations for Networks 6.12
  • Aria Operations for Networks 6.13
  • Aria Operations for Networks 6.14
  • VCF Operations for Networks 9.0

Cause

The IPSec services may become disabled during the upgrade process, leading to inter-node communication issues and cluster instability and upgrade being stuck.
