Unable to create a load balancer from SDDC UI. Error message: "Failed to find default standalone Tier1 router by name"

Issue/Introduction

SDDC failed to create a load balancer due to missing T1  

Environment

VMware NSX 

SDDC 

Cause

 

• In Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC),  to provide networking for applications,  AVN is created, and AVN is backed by T1 router. 
• With NSX federation configuration, in the event of importing local manager (LM) into global manager, T1 become a global entity. 
• SDDC can not create LB with global T1 router. 

 

• Following error will appear on SDDC UI 

      "Failed to find default standalone Tier1 by name ####-###-###"

The above error is reported, (Though T1 router is present in NSX edge configuration). The output of following command shows the presence of T1 router. 

• get logical-routers

 

 

Resolution

Make sure to deploy AVN with local T1
