Error: Register vSphere Replication server

Issue/Introduction

vSphere Replication and vCenter will have continuous error message "Cannot establish a TCP connection to server at #.#.#.#:443 Details;"originalMessage"

Environment

Cause

Port 443 must be open and accessible between vSphere Replication and ESXi servers (Intra-Site).

Several ESXi servers were in maintenance mode, obstructing vSphere Replication from connecting over port 443.

Resolution

This issue can be resolved in two ways:

1. Tag the ESXi host with com.vmware.vr.disallowedHost to prevent vSphere Replication from attempting to contact it (refer to the documentation Link).

2. Ensure vSphere Replication is allowed to communicate with the ESXi host over port 443.
