Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

• There is a warning on Hardware Health Sensors.
  

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 7.x
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 8.x

 

Cause

Hardware warnings or errors are displayed in the ESXi host's Hardware Health tab when detected by the underlying hardware sensors. These issues are typically also logged in the server’s system event logs (such as BIOS event logs, IML, or SEL), depending on the hardware platform.

Resolution

Engage with the hardware vendor to investigate and resolve any potential hardware-related issues. Once the underlying issue is addressed, the hardware health status should automatically return to a healthy or green state.
