VMware Live Site Recovery 9.x
Refer to the FAQs below.
1. Why am I getting this error ?
When the SaaS Infrastructure (Service Plane) is in maintenance mode, the SRM agent cannot send its health status to the cloud (Service Plane), resulting in the error - 503 Service Unavailable.
2. How will the SaaS Infra (Service Plane) maintenance mode impact me ?
There is no impact on current or any ongoing replication or protection of VMs.
3. What will not work when SaaS Infra (Service Plane) is in maintenance mode ?
New "write" operations like new cloud pairing, creation of offline licenses are disallowed.
4. Can I add new replications without being connected to the cloud ?
Yes
5. Can I execute recovery plans without being connected to the cloud ?
Yes
6. How will I be notified about such events ?
Customers are notified of Service Plane maintenance window (confirmed and ongoing) through a banner notification on the cloud console.
7. What happens when VLSR(SRM) loses connection to the VMware Live Recovery cloud ?
When VLSR(SRM) and vSphere replication are NOT in degraded or suspended mode, everything will work correctly as long as the specific workflow conditions are met. The error in the SRM UI (Unable to connect to cloud: 503 Service Unavailable) indicates a connection issue with the VMware Live Recovery cloud service during maintenance mode. If unresolved for 30 days, the on-prem site will enter degraded mode, and an error will appear in the SRM UI. After 60 days, it will enter suspended mode, causing complete suspension of functionality and displaying an error in the SRM UI.
