SRM plan failed to recover vm's with VMware tools and IP customization error

Issue/Introduction

Planned failover failed with VMware tools time out and IP customization failure.

Error:

Cannot complete customization, possibly due to a scripting runtime error or invalid script parameters (Error code:255).IP settings may have been partially applied.

Timed out waiting for VMware Tools after 300 seconds.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery

Cause

VMware tools were guest managed on Ubuntu OS and were not running.

Resolution

VMware tools must be running on Guest OS to proceed with IP customization.

If recovery is a priority without IP customization then disable the IP customization on Vm's and re-run the plan.
