Error: "ACCESS_TO_RESOURCE_IS_FORBIDDEN" when performing a GET against the API /cloudapi/1.0.0/securityTags/values

Issue/Introduction

• System Administrator user sees an ACCESS_TO_RESOURCE_IS_FORBIDDEN response when execution the /cloudapi/1.0.0/securityTags/values API.
• Want to extract Security Tags, but have an error stating: ACCESS_TO_RESOURCE_IS_FORBIDDEN.

Environment

Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cloud Director 10.5.x

Cause

This API is meant for organization users only (i.e. not system provider). If a system administrator runs the API it will fail by design.

Resolution

To resolve this issue ensure you are logged into the API as an Organization user which has sufficient privileges to view Security Tags, such as an the Organization Administrator.
